The overall goal of the R&T Centre is to pursue cutting-edge applied research, development and training in Information and Communication Technology in order to nuture sustained development and to bridge the digital divide to bring about a 'digital unite'.
 | The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) is a Scientific Society of the Department of Information Technology (Ministry of IT, Govt. of India). CDAC is the Project Implementing Agency for ICT Research and Training centre (R&T), India. CDAC is responsible for the coordination of the R&T Centre and will undertake applied research projects classified under "end to end" solutions and "enabling technologies". | |  | IIT Bombay, set up by an Act of Parliament in 1958, is one of the centres of academic excellence in the country. IIT Mumbai is the first collborating institution for ICT R&T Centre. IIT-B will undertake applied research projects envisaged under the theme "Smarter Internet for Development".
